Abstract


Machine downtime is a major problem that reduces productivity in the manufacturing industry, including packaging printing. This study aims to analyze the performance of the hot stamping machine at CV. Budi Jaya using the Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) method and to propose a preventive maintenance schedule. Time between failure (TBF) and time to repair (TTR) data for the period November 2022–October 2023 were analyzed using the Anderson-Darling test for distribution determination, followed by calculations of MTBF, MTTR, reliability, maintainability, inherent availability, and operational availability assisted by Minitab 22. Results show that the Weibull distribution was selected for TBF (θ = 853.286; β = 1.525) and TTR (θ = 7.113; β = 1.546). MTBF = 765 hours and MTTR = 7 hours. System reliability reached 80.61% at t = 312 hours, system maintainability 82.36% at t = 11 hours, inherent availability 99.09% (achieved IVARA standard ≥95%), and operational availability 90.16% (not achieved). Preventive maintenance is proposed every 312 hours of operation with a minimum repair time of 11 hours. Implementation of the RAM method can reduce downtime from 70 hours to 11 hours. The RAM method is effective for improving machine reliability and availability and supporting maintenance scheduling decisions.
